Background Information
Today more than ever, businesses need to be more responsive and flexible, but most companies are not prepared when a disaster strikes. Any unpredictable change of events such as a flood, snow storm, power outage or major unforeseen event can keep your workers from getting into the office. During a disaster or other business interruption, the ability to maintain productivity is essential to protecting your organization’s profit margin, credibility and reputation. Disruptions to normal business operations often result in missed opportunities, decreased company productivity, lost revenue and a damaged reputation. Business continuity depends on the responsiveness and flexibility to operate under any circumstances. With that in mind, iCore Networks makes your options much clearer.
The Challenge and Solution
Disaster recovery was at the forefront during a major water-main break at the offices of our client, a large non profit organization. Their staff had to be evacuated from their offices and relocated to two separate locations. With a water main break of this magnitude, most organizations would be on the verge of having a major business interruption. In addition, the extreme conditions could challenge legacy phone systems tied to physical lines, limiting the ability to access critical information, resources as well as communicating with stakeholders and clients.
With mobility features such as:
- Find-me, Follow-me;
- Meet-Me Conferencing;
- Call Jump and
- Voicemail-to-Email or Fax,
We provided our client with remote workforce capabilities that enabled them to experience no down time and kept them up and running with a smooth transition.
Our client switched seamlessly to mobile phones without a break in service or their stakeholders being aware of the change. Furthermore, having an iCore system enabled their employees the flexibility to work from remote locations (any IP address) using their private and secured network. Our client was able to access critical data and resources to continue normal business operations during the water main break and staff relocation.
