Stephen G. Canton, Chairman, CEO

Mr. Canton is a nationally recognized expert in the telecommunications and data networking fields, having served in various senior management and director roles for the most respected companies in the industry, including Bell Atlanticom, Cable & Wireless PLC, Allnet Communications, Telco Communications, and Excel Communications. During his leadership at these organizations, he created more than 2.3 billion in enterprise value. Mr. Canton is leveraging his enterprise customer acquisition expertise in building iCore.

Mr. Canton served as Chairman of the Export Import Bank of the United States Advisory Board for an unprecedented two terms and also served as a Director for three terms.

Bruce Simms, Executive Vice President of Operations

Bruce is a seasoned executive with an impressive track record of increasing department revenue. Bruce currently oversees supply chain management and the install of over 37,000 iCore users.  He also successfully added an MPLS network and expanded a T1 network to support iCore's growing customer base. Prior to joining iCore, he was the Director of Professional Services at GE Capital IT Solutions where he exceeded revenue and operating margins by 28% on average.  Bruce previously served as Director of Client Services at Gelco Government Networks were he increased annual department revenue by 20%.  He also held management positions at the US Department of Health & Human Services as well as the US Air Force and the Harris Corporation. Michael Bertamini, Vice President of Sales

Michael Avis, Executive Vice President of Finance & Administration

Michael joined iCore in 2008 with an impressive track record as a Financial Executive in the IT/telecom industry.  Under his leadership, Michael and his team have been able to reduce iCore's billing error to less than 1%.   In the last three years, Avis has changed the face of iCore’s financial department by setting up controls and processes to help position the company in the right direction for future growth. All of these efforts have contributed to iCore’s recent growth and profitability, including recognition for awards such as the Inc.500/5000 List (Ranked #29) of Fastest Growing U.S. Companies and the Washington Business Journal’s list of Fastest Growing Companies, each of which iCore has been a part of for the last two years.  Michael has also been recognized by the Washington Business Journal two years in a row as a CFO of the Year Finalist. 

Prior to joining iCore, he served as Vice President of Financial Operations and Administration at Global Telecom & Technology (GTT), where he helped grow the company from a private firm with $3 million in revenue to a $65 million public company in seven years. Lorena Roberts, Director of Marketing

Lorena brings over a decade of experience successfully managing key marketing programs in the IT/Telecom sector including analyst/public relations, lead-generation, social media, marketing communications, product marketing and competitive analysis.  Her most recent role was as the Marketing Manager for StackSafe, Inc., where she managed lead/demand generation programs. Prior to StackSafe, she was the Marketing Manager at VidSys, Inc., where she focused on messaging, marketing communications and search engine optimization.  She also served as the Marketing & Customer Relationship Manager at Dynamic Technology Systems.  Lorena currently serves on the Executive Board as the President for the National Association of Asian American Professionals of DC (NAAAP-DC). Jessica Ottesen, Executive Director of Client Services

Jessica joined iCore in 2009. Prior to joining iCore Jessica managed a sales team at both Cbeyond and Cogent.  Jessica also was President and Founder of US Techdisplay; a VAR out of Columbia, MD. Currently, Jessica manages a group of account managers who serve as customer advocates to their assigned customer base.  Jessica is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with all of iCore's customers through constant communications. Bob Ferry, Vice President of Information Systems

Bob has been a leader in technology and business management for over 25 years. Responsible for all areas of information technology including infrastructure and operations, application development, enterprise systems, IT security, telecommunications, database design, and systems integration. Bob has served as a CIO, CTO and consultant for companies ranging from startup through mid-sized and has had success in multiple industries including logistics, e-commerce, software and telecommunications.  Bob has a passion for leveraging people, process and technology to create business value. As the President and Founder of Insight Information, Inc. Amy Long, Director of Human Resources

Amy brings over 15 years of human resources, recruitment, training, business partnership and organizational development experience to all business units within the Telecommunications industry.  Most recently, she managed Global Human Resources for TATA Communications. Prior to joining TATA Communications, she was with Level 3 Communications where she provided Human Resources support to the business while it underwent several organizational changes.  She successfully recruited talent in all areas of the business and performed all human resources duties for a redundant Network Operations Center. This also included relocating numerous employees and fully staffing its Operations Center so that it could be at 24x7 working capacity in a short timeframe.  She acted as an integral part of the Human Resources element of the Mergers and Acquisition team throughout numerous acquisitions.  Amy’s strong background in all aspects of Human Resources will continue to position iCore Networks for further growth and development of the organization.  Amy received a Bachelors of Business Administration in Marketing from James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA. Talk to us directly
