Leading VoPI Service Provider Becomes the Premier Title Sponsor of the 2010 Business Awards

McLean, VA – May 25, 2010- iCore Networks, the Nation’s Capital’s leading Voice over Private Internet (VoPI) service provider announced today their participation and title sponsorship of this year’s SmartCEO Magazine’s Business Awards and Gala. As a benefit of supporting the event as the Premier Title Sponsor, the awards event was renamed, the 2010 SmartCEO/iCore Business Awards. The ceremony is set to take place on Thursday, May 27, 2010 at The National Press Club in DC.

This event will recognize the publication’s 5th year in Washington and highlight Washington Business Leaders who have been named to the publication’s award programs in 2010. The awards include: the annual CEO of the Year; the Circle of Excellence; and the Choice Awards.

iCore will also be participating in the event as an award winner. iCore’s Chairman and CEO, Stephen Canton, will be honored as the 2010 Circle of Excellence Winner for Entrepreneurship. Canton was selected for this category not only for demonstrating unique and successful leadership characteristics, but for how he has used those skills to benefit his business and the community.

“We are very excited and humbled to be in a position where we can sponsor and support a great local publication and recognize fellow business leaders,” said Stephen Canton, “SmartCEO and their award programs have greatly impacted iCore’s brand and awareness. We are honored to be once again recognized by their team and that we are able to join them in celebrating their 5 year anniversary and the influence they have had on the Greater Washington Business community.”

Under Canton’s leadership, during the first quarter of 2010, iCore has already been recognized as a SmartCEO Smart100 winner, expanded their staff and executive team by 25% and had recently re-located their office to a larger facility that houses 25,000 square feet of space with 4,000 square feet dedicated to a fully operational on-site Network Operation Center (NOC), which is allowing iCore to continue to provide a reliable service to their 25,000 customers and meet their goal of making 2010 the ‘Year of the Customer.’

About SmartCEO
Washington SmartCEO magazine is a regional “growing company” publication. SmartCEO believes that a “growing company” is really determined by the spirit, drive and dynamics of a company's owners and managers, rather than by the size of its building, the number of its employees, or its sales volume. Each month, a variety of businesses in the greater Washington and greater Baltimore areas turn to our pages for features, case-study advice and trend analysis, all with a uniquely local flavor. SmartCEO is read by more than 34,000 business owners in Baltimore and Washington. For a complete list of winners or more information about the program and event, visit www.smartceo.com.
