Leading Provider of VoPI also Recognized as a Top Tech Employer

McLean, VA, August 2, 2010 – iCore Networks, the leading provider of Voice over Private Internet (VoPI) services in the Nation’s Capital, has been named again by the Washington Business Journal as one of the DC area’s Top Small Technology companies. Ranking fifth on this year’s list, iCore moved up nine spots from number fourteen in 2009 and is also recognized by the Business Journal as one of the area’s Top Technology Employers.

The Small Technology Companies List ranks companies by revenue growth for 2009. iCore experienced growth of 47%. As Metro DC’s leading provider of VoPI services, the company’s long list of achievements includes, moving to a new state of the art facility in McLean, VA; expanding to the Baltimore market with a new office in Columbia, MD; adding a slew of new hires and launching a new Network Operation’s Center (NOC) to meet their expanding client base.

“Once again, we are excited to be included in the Business Journal’s ranking with so many impressive tech companies,” says Stephen Canton, Chairman and CEO of iCore.  “This recognition is a culmination of hard work, great training and performance by our entire team.” Canton adds, “Even in a tough economy, we have continued to be a thought leader in our industry, pushing the envelope to bring our clients the best possible business solutions available.”

iCore was started after Canton realized that VoIP technology could be used to give small and medium sized companies the same voice and data communications capabilities enjoyed by large organizations at a fraction of the cost.  The company signed its first customer in 2004 and now services more than 27,000 users.
