iCore Networks Marks Fifth Anniversary on the Upswing Leading VoPI Provider in DC Metro Looks to Build on Strong Performance in 2008

McLean, VA- April 21, 2009 - iCore Networks, the D.C. metro area’s leading provider of Voice over Private Internet (VoPI) services, marks its fifth anniversary in April 2009 “on the upswing,” says CEO and Chairman Stephen Canton.

According to Canton, iCore has established itself as an industry leader on the strength of a reliable, secure business-class networking solution using VoPI technology backed by Cisco Systems, Inc.

“We’re coming off a strong performance in 2008 in every respect – reliability of our network, acquisition of new customers and performance of our team,” Canton says.

Canton points to network upgrades in 2008 that “not only improved reliability but have set the foundation for continuing growth in 2009 and beyond.”  He says iCore’s voice quality “is consistently rated as equal or better than landlines by independent rating firms, and our data services are rated just as highly.”

With over 20,000 users already on its network, Canton says iCore is now poised to add significantly more users this year.  Big name customers added to the iCore network in 2008 include Truland Systems Corporation, United Negro College Fund, National Wildlife Federation and Five Guys.

In 2009, Canton adds, iCore is planning to launch a “Going Green” customer recognition program for customers who adopt sustainable business practices.  When it comes to creating a more sustainable workplace, Canton says iCore makes telework, and all of the environmental and employee satisfaction benefits it offers, available to organizations of virtually any size.

Continues Canton, “Our efforts as a company were recognized three times in 2008, twice at the national level.”  iCore received the GENBAND (now Broadsoft) award for Outstanding Growth and Innovation and VoIP Review.org’s Editor’s Choice Award.  At the local level, the company was recognized by the Washington Business Journal as one of the Top 25 Small Technology Firms in metro D.C and by SmartCEO Magazine as one of the Smart100.

Customer service is at the heart of iCore’s success, Canton states.  Offering 24/7/365 service, the company provides each customer with a single point of contact for a wide variety of voice and data needs.  “This eliminates multi-vendor problems, incompatibilities and finger pointing,” Canton observes.

“As we celebrate our five-year anniversary, we are proud that iCore has met all of the milestones and exceeded all of the projections we have set for the company– despite the economic meltdown,” Canton concludes.  “We’re headed in right direction, no question.”
