October 7, 2009 – iCore Networks is proud to announce that they ranked number 10 on the Washington Business Journal’s Fastest Growing Companies List. The list recognizes companies throughout the D.C-Metro area with high revenue growth over a three-year period and features companies from a broad range of industries.
iCore Networks is the D.C.-Metro area’s leading provider of Voice over Private Internet (VoPI) services. iCore was started after Chairman and CEO Stephen Canton realized that VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) technology could be used to give small and medium sized companies the same voice and data communications capabilities enjoyed by large organizations at a fraction of the cost. Signing up its first customer in 2004, iCore now services over 22,000 users.
Companies on the list must have experienced high revenue growth from 2006 to 2008. The companies also must have had 2006 revenue of more than $2 million and 2008 revenue of at least $10 million. Over the three-year period, iCore had an average annual revenue growth of 77.76%, with 2008 revenue that topped $17 million.
“We are thrilled to be recognized on this list with so many other great local businesses,” says Canton. “This honor and ranking is a testament to the performance of our team, the reliability of our network and the acquisition of new customers despite the economic meltdown. Coming off a strong performance in 2008 we’re headed in right direction, no question.”
This recognition is another in iCore’s long list of company and individual honors for 2009. Stephen Canton was named one of Washington SmartCEO Magazine’s Smart 100 CEO’s and was also a finalist in for Ernst & Young’s Entrepreneur of the Year Award. Additionally, iCore ranked #29 on this year’s Inc. 500 list.
